About Us

Envired is managed and run by Charlotte Chapman.

Charlotte has been a design and technology teacher for 7 years. She trained at Goldsmiths College in London and recently spent two years in New Zealand managing the design department at Auckland Girls Grammar School. It was here that she started to specialise in sustainable design across the Technology Curriculum.

Within her teaching career she has implemented a Designers in Schools programme which was hugely successful. As a direct result of this many students opted to take design and technology onto further education.

Charlotte has been teaching aspects of sustainable design within the UK curriculum for the last two years. She has seen the positive effects this has had on students both inside and outside the classroom. Students are able to identify the need to be more thoughtful in design and understand the cause and effect of bad design on the environment. Charlotte is keen to express the importance of creativity and sustainability and writes for Inspired Times Magazine. www.inspiredtimesmagazine.com

Since starting Envired in June 2007, Charlotte has won a "Woman in Enterprise" award and has been recognised for her innovative approach in improving links between industry and design. Charlotte started her MA in Design Education at Goldsmiths College, University of London, in October 2009 which she will complete part time over two years.
